Encountering a New Language.

It is said that there are over 6,000 languages in the world. In the Bible, it is mentioned that various languages emerged as a result of the decree made by God at Babel. Language, whether spoken or otherwise, such as through images, is the means by which we express and convey feelings and thoughts. In this sense, the invention of the "daguerreotype camera" by Daguerre in 1839, which marked the beginning of the camera, gave birth to the "language of images." Now, thanks to numerous research efforts and technological advancements, we live in a world where anyone can easily and comfortably use "image language." With the proliferation of smartphones, it is estimated that over 90% of people now speak two languages, their mother tongue and the language of images.

For over 40 years, I have been involved in the photography industry, collaborating with professional image language developers known as photographers. I take pride in contributing to the advancement of image language by supplying tools and materials to support their creative work.

The Emergence of Digital Image Language 

"The widespread use of computers and the development of the internet have brought about new changes in how we communicate, transitioning from the analog era to the digital age. 'Photos' and 'videos,' which have become essential on digital platforms such as SNS and YouTube, have now become indispensable means of communication in our daily lives. I have been researching hardware and software to produce these communication tools, helping creators of photos and videos choose suitable equipment based on their purposes. Additionally, I propose ideas to improve efficient workflows and work environments, while also sharing future visions.

Through these efforts, I have emphasized the importance of communication with photo and video creators, assisting them in expressing their image language more sophisticatedly."

With diverse styles, eloquent language, and expressive vocabulary, our past modes of communication were vibrant. However, the meeting of AI and the metaverse's new frontier now shatters the limitations of our digital language expression. This marks the dawn of a new era, Digital 4.0, where our image language transcends the boundaries of time and space, presenting infinite possibilities.

The journey ahead, alongside image creators who hold visions of the future, is eagerly anticipated. As we ponder our destination, Andromeda, where might it be?
